Katy Hansz comes to us as a recent honors graduate from NYU's Silver School of Social Work and is presently a second year candidate at the Center for the Study of Anorexia and Bulimia. She brings strong expertise in trauma work, group work, sexuality, gender identity, and eating disorders, and is an advanced standing candidate in the process to become a certified IFS (Internal Family Systems) therapist.

Katy is passionate about incorporating the IFS method, as well as other somatic practices, into psychodynamic eating disorder and trauma treatment.  Katy also has extensive meditation training in the Soto Zen lineage and utilizes a compassion based lens in all her interventions and treatment approaches. She will be providing individual therapy, individual meal supports, group therapy, and conducting intakes.

Outside of Aurora, Katy works as a psychotherapist at two group IFS practices specializing in healing sexual abuse, eating disorders and relational trauma. She is thrilled and honored to be joining the Aurora team.
